LONDON FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE 2025 IN THE FLEET STREET QUARTER
JOIN US TO CELEBRATE A MONTH LONG PROGRAMME ON THE THEME 'VOICES'
The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) is back in the Fleet Street Quarter for a month long celebration of architecture and city-making in June 2025. With activity happening across London, the Festival will once again be platform for conversation, testing new ideas, promoting emerging talent, helping shift us towards a more equitable, sustainable city. All Festival activity for 2025 focuses on the theme of ‘Voices’.
Fleet Street Quarter's installation for LFA2025 addresses thinking on planning for future generations, thinking beyond boundaries, valuing diversity, leveraging innovation and working in partnership. The artist, Oskar Zieta, works in urban spaces and uses innovative and sustainable methods in his design and materials.
Having taken part in the London Festival of Architecture for the last few years, and with such a strong cultural and architectural heritage in the area to showcase, with ambitious plans for its future, Fleet Street Quarter BID were keen to take part again. We have been working closely with the Polish Cultural Institute, one of our BID members, as well as On&On Designs for several months to come up with something to contribute to the LFA as part of the UK/Poland Season 2025, which will be celebrated across the UK. We think that our contribution to this year’s LFA really exemplifies the ethos of the Festival and celebrates the fantastic creative and cultural heritage of our area.
Oscar Zieta's exquisite design, ‘Whispers’ (above) invites people of all backgrounds to join in conversation:
"Whether spoken softly, in hushed tones, or even in whispers — sitting together in a circle, we can break down barriers and connect meaningfully. Our aspiration is for Londoners to join us in breathing life into ‘Whispers’... Designing public and private spaces, as well as entire cities, would be meaningless without the voices that shape them. These voices are numerous - often contradictory, and sometimes silent. Let architecture empower people to speak - whether in a firm voice or a whisper.” (Oskar Zieta)
This will all be delivered as a partnership between Fleet Street Quarter BID, the Polish Cultural Institute, Let’s Art Foundation, On&On Designs and LFA as part of the UK/Poland Season 2025. Join us for this and more throughout June.
