WELCOMING URBAN FARMS
TO 109 FLEET STREET
From 5th June Fleet Street Quarter are delighted to be hosting a herbaceous, verdant Urban Farm here on Fleet Street itself, in partnership with Square Mile Farms! Using hydroponic towers and walls, plants in the absence of soil, will provide FSQ workers, residents and visitors with locally grown parsley, kale, sage and basil.
This exciting collaboration demonstrates an alternative approach to re-invigorate the ground floor offering, through innovatively activating empty retail spaces to provide an educational and interactive hub for our BID community. Our Urban Farm offers a space that promotes environmental stewardship through engaging and hands-on experiences and encouraging further conversations on sustainability topics; whilst also empowering our local community to support their health and wellbeing through the co-benefits of farming.
Join us at 109 Fleet Street for free events and activities taking place throughout June, including health-kicking herb-filled recipe workshops and harvesting sessions all whilst learning about the importance of sustainability in the city. All events are free and open to everyone.
Harvesting Dates
During June, we will be hosting two harvests: the first on Thursday 15th June and the second on Thursday 29th June 12:30-14:00 . These harvests will be led by Square Mile Farm. No booking is required to take part in harvesting days.
Thursday 15th June 17:30-19:30.
