TAKE PART IN EARTH HOUR 2025
SWITCH OFF AND MAKE AN IMPACT FOR THE PLANET: FIND OUT HOW YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS CAN GET INVOLVED
Saturday 22 March, 9:30pm – 10:30pm

The annual 60-minute climate awareness initiative, Earth Hour, is on Saturday 22nd March 8.30pm to 9.30pm! This environmental movement encourages everyone to switch off their lights and dedicate an hour to doing something-anything-they love that’s positive to the planet. With more than 190+ countries and territories participating, here’s how you and your businesses can get involved!
Organise an office and/ or outlet-wide switch off: Across the square mile iconic landmarks such as the Guildhall, Tower Bridge will be switched off and organisations such as St Paul’s Cathedral and the Livery Climate Action Group are also joining in. Why not participate and explore the possibility of switching off all non-essential lights?
Plan a series of ‘Give an hour’ activities: Go above and beyond simply switching off, explore nature and lifestyle positive ‘Give an Hour’ activities you and your team can do using the hour bank. From making most of the additional seating and greening in the area by taking a calming walk to signing up to Neighbourly to access volunteering opportunities based within 2 miles of fleet street using the code FSQ2025, there’s so much you can do at your doorstep!
Document this moment: To raise awareness and inspire other to join capture the moment and share it on social media! Be sure to tag @Fleetstquarter and use the hashtags #EarthHour and #BiggestHourforEarth in your stories and posts to be featured in our next article!
Continue to do good beyond Earth Hour: Implement sustainable changes to your everyday lifestyle to build a more climate resilient future. Start with small steps like changing your commuting method, turning off all your office equipment, and upgrading to LED lights. Businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact can audit their scope 1,2& 3 emissions, decarbonise their operations and introduce recycling schemes.
