CYBER GRIFFIN BASELINE BRIEFING A
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CITY OF LONDON POLICE
Last week we were delighted to be part of a Cyber Griffin Baseline Briefing led by the City of London Police. We saw a breadth of businesses with the Fleet Street Quarter in attendance and have been pleased to hear positive results from everyone who joined. The session’s main areas of focus looked at how important it is to take control over your personal information while also being wary of online scammers.
The key takeaway from the session was remain wary online, the more proactive you are the higher chance of avoidance.
Top Tips to keep your information secure:
2 Factor verification apps – recommended paid versions as they are typically superior.
Only allow Apps to have access to what the App requires – for example, a calculator app does not need access to your phone contacts as a requirement.
Use memorable passphrases instead of passwords.Hover over email attachments – do not click if in doubt.
Always use official routes of communications due to impersonation.
Always take a step back and think about what you are accessing when online.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Cyber Griffin team and the City of London Police for partnering with us on this event. Keep an eye out for part 2 of the training series – Baseline Briefing (B) session running in November 2023.Missed out? Why not brush up and practice your response to a variety of cyber-attacks using the National Cyber Security Centre’s tool ‘Exercise in a Box’.
